Okay, so “wok to poland” – sounds crazy, right? It all started with a silly idea I had. I was staring at my wok, thinking about how much I love stir-fry, and then…BAM! Poland popped into my head. I’ve always wanted to visit, and somehow, these two unrelated things just clicked.

First, I grabbed my phone and did a little digging. Just to see, you know, IF this was even remotely possible. Turns out, it IS a long way. Really long.
The Planning Stage (Which Was Mostly Daydreaming)
I spent a good few hours just staring at maps. Tracing routes with my finger, imagining myself walking through all these different countries. It was like a fun game, at first. I wasn’t seriously thinking I’d do it, but…the seed was planted.
- Step 1: Grab a map. I used a big world map I had lying around.
- Step 2: Mark my starting point (my kitchen, obviously).
- Step 3: Mark Poland.
- Step 4: Start drawing lines. Lots of lines.
Getting (Slightly) More Serious
After a few days of this, I started thinking, “What if…?” So, I started looking into things like border crossings, visa requirements (turns out, that’s a thing!), and just, generally, how one would even begin to walk across continents.
I started making lists. Gear I’d need. Possible routes. How many pairs of socks does one person actually need for a trip like this? These were the important questions, people.
The Reality Check
Okay, full disclosure: I haven’t actually done this yet. It’s still very much in the “crazy idea” phase. But! I HAVE started walking more. Like, to the grocery store instead of driving. Baby steps, right?

Small training step.
And I’ve been researching hiking boots. Turns out, there’s a LOT of different kinds. Who knew? I’m also trying to cook more stir-fry, to honor the wok that started it all. Practice. Getting in shape. The wok way.
So, yeah, “wok to Poland” is still a work in progress. But it’s my work in progress. And who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll actually be writing a blog post FROM Poland. Stay tuned!
