Okay, so I’ve been trying to be a little more eco-conscious, and I’ve also been traveling a bit more lately. It got me thinking about all those little travel-sized products I used to buy. You know, the tiny shampoos, conditioners, body washes – all in those little plastic bottles. It felt super wasteful, so I decided to try and change things up.
My Little Experiment Begins
First, I gathered all those little hotel bottles I’d accumulated over the years. I had a whole drawer full! Seriously, it was a bit embarrassing.
Then, I started actually using them, instead of just letting them gather dust.
- I cleaned them out really, really well. Hot water, soap, the whole nine yards. I wanted to make sure there was no old product left inside.
- I let them dry completely. This took a while, I propped them upside down and waited like a day or two. Patience is a virtue, right?
Next, I started refilling them. Instead of buying new travel-sized stuff, I just decanted my regular, full-sized products into the smaller bottles. My usual shampoo, conditioner, body wash – even my face wash! – all went into those little containers.
The Result?
It’s been working out great! I feel way better about not constantly buying and throwing away those little plastic bottles. It’s a small change, but it feels good. Plus, it saves me a bit of money in the long run, since I’m not buying those travel-sized versions anymore.
And honestly, it’s kind of fun. It’s like a little mini-project every time I pack for a trip. I get to feel all organized and eco-friendly. Win-win!
