Why Do Some Images Blurry? Common Reasons and Solutions!

Okay, so the other day I was messing around with some images for my blog, and I noticed something super annoying. Some of the pictures looked all blurry and pixelated, while others were crystal clear. I was like, “What the heck is going on here?” So, I decided to figure it out, and here’s what I did.

Why Do Some Images Blurry? Common Reasons and Solutions!

Initial Checks

First, I checked the original image files. I opened them up on my computer to see if they were blurry to begin with. Nope, they were all perfectly fine. High-resolution, sharp, everything looked good.

Experimenting with Resizing

Next, I thought maybe it was the way I was resizing them. Sometimes when you shrink a big image down, it can get messed up. So, I tried a few different things:

  • I used a different image editor. I usually use this one program, but I tried another one just in case.
  • I made sure I was saving them in the right format. I usually go for JPEG, but I experimented with PNG too.
  • I played around with the “quality” settings when saving. Sometimes, if you crank the quality down too low, things get blurry.

Still, some images were blurry no matter what I did!

The “Aha!” Moment

Then, it hit me. I remembered something about “pixel density” or “DPI” (dots per inch). Basically, it’s how much detail is packed into an image. I realized that some of my images had a much lower DPI than others. That’s why they looked blurry when I put them on my blog!

Fixing the Problem

To fix it, I went back to my image editor and found the setting to change the DPI. I bumped it up to a higher number (I think I used 300 DPI, which is pretty standard). Then, I re-saved the images and uploaded them to my blog again.

And guess what? It worked! All the images were nice and sharp. It was such a simple fix, but it took me a while to figure it out. I guess that the basic is easy to forget.

So, if you’re ever dealing with blurry images, check the DPI! It might be the culprit. Hope this helps someone else out there!
