Okay, here we go, let’s talk about my little adventure with beauty dishes, or as they call them, “pantallas beauty dish”.
So, the other day, I got this idea in my head that I wanted to try something new with my photography lighting. I’ve been doing this for a while, you know, but I always feel like there’s something more to learn. I saw these things called beauty dishes online and I thought, “Hey, why not give it a shot?”
First things first, I had to get my hands on one of these dishes. I spent a whole afternoon just browsing through different shops, both online and in-person, it was a bit of a hassle, I must say. I found a couple of options, some from big brands, some from not-so-known ones. Eventually, I found one that seemed pretty decent and didn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Then came the fun part – figuring out how to use it! I mean, it’s not like your regular light bulb, right? I started messing around with it, trying to mount it on my light stand. It wasn’t as easy as I thought, I had to adjust a few things here and there. After a little bit of wrestling with the screws and brackets, I finally got it set up. It took me a while, and I even broke a sweat.

- I spent hours just taking pictures of random things around the house, trying to see how the light played with different surfaces.

My Results
The next few days, I was all about that beauty dish. I tried it with different types of photos, portraits, still life, even some outdoor stuff. It was a bit tricky to use outside, especially with the wind, but I managed. And you know what? It was totally worth it. The photos I took, they had this professional look, something I hadn’t really achieved before. It was like I leveled up my photography game.
I shared some of the pictures with my friends, and they were impressed. They were like, “Dude, these look amazing! What did you do?” And I was just happy to share my new little secret. It was a great feeling, to learn something new and see it pay off.
So yeah, that’s my story with the “pantallas beauty dish”. It was a fun ride, a bit of a learning curve, but totally worth the effort. I’m still experimenting with it, and I’m excited to see what else I can create. It’s amazing how a simple piece of equipment can make such a big difference.
