Okay, so yesterday I decided to tackle this “Madeleine Vall” thing. I’d seen some buzz about it online, and figured, why not give it a shot? I’m no pro fighter or anything, but I like to stay active.

First, I needed to figure out what it actually was. Turns out, it’s this female boxer, or something related to her, all over the internet. Okay, cool, I like a new challenge.
My Prep Work
I started with a bit of basic searching, just to get a general idea of what that entails. I watched a few videos, saw some different styles, and quickly realized there’s a lot to it.
- Warm-up: I did some simple stretching, and skipping rope. Got the blood flowing, you know?
- Basic Punches: Practiced some jabs, crosses, and hooks, just air punching to start. Felt kinda silly, but hey, gotta start somewhere.
The Main Event (aka My Living Room Workout)
After the warm-up, I tried to put it all together.
I tried moving around, bobbing and weaving like I’d seen in some videos. My cat was very confused, by the way. She kept batting at my feet, thinking I was playing. It was… interesting.
I definitely felt a bit awkward at first. It’s one thing to watch someone else do it, and another thing entirely to try it yourself. My coordination was all over the place.

Cooling Down and Thoughts
After about, I don’t know, 30 minutes of flailing around, I decided to call it quits. I was sweating, my arms were tired, and I had a new respect for people who do this stuff.
I did some more stretching to cool down, and then just collapsed on the couch.
So, final thoughts? It was fun, a good workout, and I can try something more next time. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll look a little less ridiculous next time I try it. Or not. Either way, it’s a good way to get some exercise and try something new!
