Okay, so I’ve been seeing doves everywhere lately. Not just, like, one or two, but groups of them, constantly. It felt like more than just coincidence, you know? So I started to dig into what doves might symbolize, spiritually.
First, I just started noticing them more consciously. I started my mornings by sitting on my porch with my coffee. Before, I’d just scroll through my phone. But I decided to actually look around. And there they were – doves, cooing in the trees, pecking around on the ground. I even bought a little bird feeder, nothing fancy, just a simple one, and filled it with seeds.
I spent some time, well, Googling. “Dove symbolism,” “dove spiritual meaning,” that kind of stuff. I found all sorts of interesting things. Peace, love, grace, hope… it all resonated with me. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but it felt…good.
My Dove Journal
- Day 1: Saw three doves on my way to work. Felt a sense of calm, even though I was running late.
- Day 3: Two doves were perched on the power lines outside my window. I took a deep breath and just watched them for a few minutes. It felt… peaceful.
- Day 7: Woke up to the sound of doves cooing. Realized I hadn’t felt this relaxed in ages. I made a note of it.
- Day 10: A dove actually landed on my bird feeder! I felt so happy. I grabbed my phone and took a picture, though it’s a bit blurry.
I kept this up, just observing, and journaling my little “dove encounters.” It wasn’t scientific or anything, just my feelings, and what was going on in my life. I noticed that when I was feeling particularly stressed, seeing a dove, even just hearing one, would help me calm down. It was like a little reminder to breathe, to be present.
I realized this whole dove thing was helping me connect with something bigger than myself. It wasn’t about religion, really, just… a feeling of connection to the world around me. I feel more present, more grateful. It is still my experencing.
