Okay, so I set out to check out the Seal Beach Municipal Pier in Seal Beach, CA. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing, really. I just woke up one Saturday and thought, “Let’s go somewhere new!”

Getting There
First things first, I had to figure out how to get there. I’m not super familiar with that area, so I used my phone, and typed in the destination. It was pretty straightforward, mostly freeway driving. Parking was a bit of a question mark, but I figured I’d wing it when I got there. I packed a small bag with some water, sunscreen (gotta have that!), and a light jacket – you never know with the California coast.
The Journey and Arrival
The drive itself was pretty uneventful. Grab some coffee, listened to some music, and enjoyed the scenery along the way. Once I got into Seal Beach, the vibe was immediately different. Much more of small beach town feel, with cute little shops and that salty air smell.
I found the parking near the pier.
Experiencing the Pier
Walking onto the pier was cool. You get that immediate sense of being out over the water. There were families, people fishing, couples strolling…a good mix of folks. I just started walking, taking it all in.
- The wood planks underfoot feel.
- The sound of the waves, and the seagulls,
- The views back towards the beach and the town.
I even tried to find the restaurant on the pier, but failed. Maybe next time!

Wrapping Up
After a good while just wandering and enjoying the atmosphere, I headed back. I grabbed an ice cream cone from a shop near the beach – classic beach day move, right? Overall mission, see a bit of Seal Beach and check out the pier, accomplished!
It made me start thinking about the next little adventure. Maybe I’ll explore another pier down the coast sometime soon.
