So, I went to Cabo San Lucas. February. Why? Fed up with the cold where I live, plain and simple. Just needed a break, needed some sun. You get it.

Weather Check: What I Heard vs. What I Actually Got
I looked it up before I booked, obviously. Saw all these things saying, oh, average highs around 76°F, lows maybe down to 66°F. “Pleasantly warm,” was a phrase I saw thrown around. And you know what? They weren’t far off, not really. During the day, it was definitely t-shirt and shorts weather. No complaints there. But evenings, or if you were right on the beach with that wind, yeah, it got a bit cooler. Some descriptions said the area can feel “breezy.” I’d agree with that. I actually packed a light jacket, and I was glad I did. Used it a couple of times when we ate out at night near the water. It’s not like it’s scorching hot 24/7, but it’s comfortable, mostly.
My packing list wasn’t complicated because of this:
- Shorts, a good few pairs.
- T-shirts, standard stuff.
- Swimsuit, of course. Can’t go to Cabo without it.
- That one light jacket. It earned its spot in the suitcase.
- Sandals, pretty much lived in them.
Didn’t really feel like I missed anything, clothing-wise. It was pretty straightforward.
Now, About The Crowds… Yeah.
Here’s the thing about Cabo in February. It’s popular. Like, really popular. I read that it attracts “thousands of visitors annually,” especially at that time. And boy, you could tell. The beaches weren’t empty, let me tell you. Restaurants, bars, same story. If you’re looking for some deserted paradise, February probably isn’t your month. I remember hearing someone say if you want to avoid the big crowds, you should aim for August or September, but then you’re dealing with rainy season. Or maybe try May and June, after Spring Break clears out but before it gets too hot. They specifically say to avoid March, April, and December through February if crowds are a big turn-off. Well, I was there smack in the middle of February, so it was lively, to say the least.
So, was it a dealbreaker with all those people?

For me, not really. I kind of expected it. You go to a famous spot during peak season, you’re gonna share it. The weather was so genuinely nice, though. Escaping a gray, cold winter for that kind of sunshine? I wasn’t about to complain too much about having to wait a bit longer for a drink. It’s a trade-off, isn’t it?
So, yeah, the weather in Cabo in February? Solid. Warm enough to swim and sunbathe, cool enough in the evenings to be pleasant. Just go knowing you won’t be the only one there enjoying it. Not by a long shot.
