How It Started
So I was scrolling through Instagram last Tuesday night, right? Saw this gorgeous blue sunset picture that made me stop mid-scroll. Got me thinking – why not build my own collection of dope blue images? Could be useful for my website background or just eye candy.

Gathering the Blues
First thing Wednesday morning, I grabbed my camera and drove around town like a maniac hunting blue stuff. Snap snap snapped everything:
- Took 50+ shots of the noon sky at the park
- Zoomed in on faded blue paint peeling off old warehouse walls
- Stalked a little kid’s bright blue bicycle parked outside 7-Eleven
- Stood ankle-deep in seawater for 20 mins waiting for perfect ocean wave shots
My phone storage screamed bloody murder halfway through – had to delete three meme folders just to keep shooting.
The Nightmare Sorting Part
Thursday? Disaster time. Downloaded all 287 pics to my laptop and stared at the mess. Tried organizing by shade:
Cobalt vs Navy vs Teal – bruh my eyes started crossing after 30 minutes. That “Cornflower Blue”? Looked identical to “Baby Blue” when I put ’em side by side. Wasted two hours fighting with photo editing software to create color labels before rage-quitting.
Finally just said screw it and sorted by FEEL:

- Angry storm blues
- Calm sky blues
- Weird artificial blues (neon signs, plastic toys)
Way easier that way. Note to self: never trust fancy color names.
Editing Hell
Tried fixing some shots Friday. Big mistake. My “enhanced” ocean pic turned radioactive teal like Nickelodeon slime. The warehouse wall? Ended up looking like Smurf vomit after playing with saturation sliders. Had to undo all edits at 2AM with blurry eyes.
Learned my lesson: Nature does blue best. Human hands? Not so much.
The Final Gallery
Saturday morning dumped all 63 keepers into one massive gallery page. No fancy layout – just pure blue goodness in raw grid format. Threw in:
- That chipped turquoise door from downtown
- Freezing iceberg-looking glaciers from the freezer aisle (weird but worked)
- My neighbor’s hideous 1980s blue vinyl couch (looks oddly artistic close up)
Best surprise? Accidentally included a shot of my blue coffee mug reflecting the TV – turned out crazy abstract! Went viral on my page. Moral? Embrace happy accidents.

What I Learned
Next time I’ll:
1) Bring backup storage day one
2) Stop trying to out-blue nature
3) Always include random household items – people dig that

Gallery’s live now. Might hunt for purple next month… after my eyes recover from blue overload!
