N or S Myers Briggs: Are You More Intuitive or Sensing Find Out!

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this Myers-Briggs thing, you know, the personality test? Specifically, I wanted to figure out if I’m more of an “N” (Intuitive) or an “S” (Sensing). It’s been a bit of a head-scratcher, to be honest.

I started by taking a bunch of those online tests. You’ve probably seen them, right? They ask you a load of questions about how you react in different situations, what you prefer, that kind of stuff. I did a few of these, and the results were all over the place. Some said I was an “N,” others swore I was an “S.” Talk about confusing!

So, I decided to dig a little deeper. I read up on what “N” and “S” actually mean in the Myers-Briggs world. Apparently, “S” types are all about the here and now, they’re practical and detail-oriented. They like things they can see, touch, and experience directly. “N” types, on the other hand, are more into the big picture, ideas, and possibilities. They’re the dreamers, always thinking about what could be.

Armed with this info, I started observing myself. Yeah, I know, sounds a bit weird, but I really wanted to get to the bottom of this. I paid attention to how I approached tasks, how I made decisions, and what I naturally focused on during the day. For example, when I get a new gadget, do I dive into the manual and figure it out step-by-step like an S, or do I just play around with it and see what happens like an N?

I also tried to recall past experiences. How did I handle projects at work or school? Was I more focused on the concrete steps or the overall goal and potential outcomes? Did I prefer clear instructions or did I like to have more room to improvise? Like a diary, I started to write them down.

  • First day: still confused, maybe I am more like an S, I don’t really like to make a long-term plan.
  • Second day: I think I am more like an N when I was in middle school.
  • Third day: I feel I am neither N nor S today.
  • Fourth day: I think I am getting closer to the answer.

It wasn’t easy, and it took some time. But eventually, after lots of self-reflection and observation, I started to see a pattern. I realized that while I appreciate details, I’m often more drawn to the underlying meaning and possibilities. I enjoy brainstorming and thinking about the future more than, say, organizing my closet. For example, I don’t really like to make a plan for the next week or even next month. I don’t want to be trapped in a certain routine.

My conclusion?

I’m probably more of an “N.” It’s not a perfect fit, and I definitely have some “S” tendencies, but the “N” description just resonates with me more. It was a fun little experiment, and it helped me understand myself a bit better. Have you ever tried figuring out your Myers-Briggs type? It’s a wild ride!
