Okay, so the other day I was trying to record a quick video for my blog, and I ran into this super annoying issue. Every time I’d start recording, the video would come out way too bright. Like, I’m talking blindingly bright, almost completely white! It was driving me nuts.

At first, I thought maybe it was just the lighting in my room. So, the first action I took was I messed around with the lights. I turned off the overhead light, drew the curtains, and even tried using a lamp instead. No dice. Still looked like I was staring directly into the sun.
Next, I figured it had to be something with my camera settings, right? I’m no tech expert, but I know the basics. I started fiddling with the camera app’s built-in controls. You know those setting bars, Exposure, brightness, and all that stuff.
- Exposure: Lowered it, raised it, tried everything in between.
- Brightness: Same deal. Nothing seemed to make a difference.
- Contrast:I even play around contrast setting, but it still too bright.
I was getting seriously frustrated at this point. I mean, how hard can it be to film a simple video?
Then, I remembered that my camera has some “pro” settings, buried deep in the menu. I’d never really messed with them before, figuring they were too complicated. But, desperate times, right? I dove into the advanced settings.
Find the key!
And that’s when I finally found it! It turns out there was this setting called “ISO”. I vaguely remembered reading somewhere that ISO controls how sensitive the camera is to light. I have tried to change the value of it.

I lowered the ISO, and boom! Suddenly, the image looked normal. I could actually see myself, and the background wasn’t a blown-out mess. I felt like a total genius, even though I’m sure it’s a pretty basic thing for anyone who knows cameras. Finally, I got it!
So yeah, that’s my little camera adventure. I still need use the right ISO value, but anyway I can record now! It just goes to show, sometimes you gotta dig a little deeper and not be afraid to mess with those settings. You might surprise yourself with what you can figure out!
