Mirador del Valle: How to Get There and What to Expect

Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through this little project I did, called “mirador del valle”. It’s basically a viewpoint overlooking the valley. Sounds fancy, right? Well, the process was anything but!

Mirador del Valle: How to Get There and What to Expect

It all started when I had this itch to build something cool. I was staring out the window one day, and the valley view just hit me. “Boom,” I thought, “that’s it! I’m building a mirador.”

First things first, I needed a location. Scoured the area, hiked around a bit, you know, the usual. Finally found this spot that was just perfect. Had the right elevation, wasn’t too far from the road, and the view was killer.

Next up: planning. I’m not an architect or anything, so I just kinda sketched some stuff out on a napkin. Figured out the basic layout, where the seating would go, how big the platform needed to be. Real high-tech stuff, let me tell you. Napkin architecture is the future!

Then came the fun part – gathering materials. Hit up the local lumber yard, got some wood, some concrete, all that jazz. My truck was groaning by the time I was done. Felt like I was building a house, not just a viewpoint.

Construction was a beast. I’m not gonna lie, there were definitely some moments where I questioned my life choices. But I kept at it. Dug the foundation, poured the concrete, built the frame. My back was killing me, but slowly, but surely, it started to take shape.

The platform was probably the trickiest part. Had to make sure it was level and sturdy. Used a level and a whole lot of elbow grease. There were some creative curse words involved, I’m not gonna lie.

After the platform, I added some seating. Simple benches made from reclaimed wood. Wanted to give it a rustic feel. Plus, it was cheaper than buying new stuff. Always a win!

And finally, the finishing touches. Added some railings for safety, cleaned up the area, and just generally made it look presentable. Stepped back, took a look, and… wow. It was actually pretty awesome.

It wasn’t perfect, mind you. There were definitely some wonky angles and some imperfections here and there. But it was mine. I built it with my own two hands. And the view? Unbeatable.

So, yeah, that’s the story of “mirador del valle.” It was a lot of work, a lot of sweat, and a few curse words, but totally worth it in the end. Now I’ve got a sweet spot to chill and enjoy the valley view. And hopefully, other people will enjoy it too.
