Okay, so I had this trip recently where I needed to fly through Munich Airport, and I was a bit freaked out about connecting between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. I’d heard horror stories about long walks and confusing signs, so I decided to do some serious recon beforehand. And man, am I glad I did! I figured I’d put my experience out there for anyone else who might be in the same boat.

Is Munich Terminal 1 a Transfer Terminal? Get the Facts for a Smooth Connection.

Digging for Info

First things first, I hit up the Munich Airport website. I mean, that’s the obvious place to start, right? I pored over the maps, trying to get a feel for the layout. I also checked my flight details multiple times to make absolutely sure which terminals I was dealing with. No room for error here!

My Actual Transfer Experience

So, here’s how it went down.

I landed in Terminal 1, feeling a bit apprehensive. But, once I got off the plane, I just follow the signs. Because I made myself very aware before traveling.

  • Finding the Shuttle: I looked for the “Terminal Transfer” signs, which were pretty clear, thankfully. They were in both German and English, so no problems there.
  • Walking:There’s walking envolved to the shuttle stop.
  • Waiting for the Shuttle:The shuttle came pretty quickly.
  • Riding the Shuttle: The shuttle ride itself was smooth and only took a few minutes.
  • Arriving at Terminal 2:I finally arrived.

My Final Thoughts

Honestly, it was totally fine! I think the key is just to be prepared and know what to expect. If you’re flying through Munich and need to transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, it’s totally doable.
