Okay, so, summer festivals in Canada, right? I’ve always wanted to experience them properly, not just stumble into one by accident. This year, I decided to really do it. First things, I made a plan.

Getting Started: Research, Research, Research!
I started by hitting up the internet. I just googled “summer festivals Canada” and, wow, information overload! I quickly realized I needed to narrow it down.
- First step: I picked a province. British Columbia, Because I’d always wanted to visit.
- Next: I looked at the dates. I only had a couple of weeks free in July, so that helped eliminate a bunch of options.
- Then I chose the type:Then, I thought about what kind of vibe I wanted. Music? Food? Cultural stuff? I’m a big music fan, so I focused on music festivals.
After spending a few hours (okay, maybe a whole day) browsing different festival websites, I finally settled on two: a smaller, local music festival in a town I’d never heard of, and a slightly bigger * I like music best!
The Prep Work: Tickets and Accommodation
Getting the tickets was pretty straightforward. Both festivals had online ticketing, which was super convenient. Then came the accommodation. The smaller festival had camping options, which sounded fun and affordable, so I booked a campsite.
For the second, I decided to splurge a little and booked a cozy little Airbnb near the festival * I think it’s convience for me. I figured it would be nice to have a real bed after a long day of music and festivities.
Packing Essentials: From Sunscreen to Rain Gear
Packing was… an experience. I live in a place with pretty predictable weather, so I’m not used to packing for every possibility. But I knew Canadian summers could be anything from scorching hot to pouring rain, sometimes in the same day!

I packed:
- Sunscreen (lots of it!)
- A hat
- Sunglasses
- A light rain jacket
- Comfortable shoes (so important!)
- A reusable water bottle
- A small backpack for carrying essentials during the day
I also threw in a few warmer layers, just in case. Better to be overprepared than underprepared, right? I can comfirm.
The Festival Experience: Music, Food, and Fun
The festivals themselves were amazing! The smaller one had this really intimate, community feel. I discovered some awesome new bands, chatted with friendly locals, and just generally soaked up the good vibes. The food trucks were incredible, too – I think I ate my weight in poutine!
The bigger festival was, well, bigger! More people, more stages, more everything. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but I quickly found my groove. I managed to see some of my favorite artists, danced my heart out, and made some new friends along the way.
My Top Tip
My biggest takeaway? Don’t overschedule yourself! It’s tempting to try and see every single band or do every single activity, but it’s just not possible. Leave some room for spontaneity, relax, and just enjoy the moment. That’s what festivals are all about, right? It’s important to relax!

I finished the whole adventure,I feel great! So I share it to you guys!
