Okay, so I wanted to figure out what the weather’s like in Portugal in February, ’cause, you know, planning a trip! First, I grabbed my phone and opened up my usual weather app. You know the one, it has the little sun and clouds.

I typed in “Lisbon, Portugal” to start, figuring the capital city would be a good benchmark.
Checking the Average Temperatures
The app popped up with the current weather, but I needed February! So I scrolled through the monthly forecast thingy. It showed a bunch of numbers, highs and lows, and little raincloud icons.
- Looked for the average high temperatures. Seemed to be around the mid-50s Fahrenheit (like, 15 degrees Celsius).
- Checked the average lows. Those were in the 40s (around 8 degrees Celsius). Not freezing, but definitely jacket weather!
Rain or Shine?
Next, I focused on the rain situation. Nobody wants a soggy vacation. The app showed a fair number of days with rain predicted, but it didn’t look like constant downpours. More like, showers on and off.
Expanding My Search
Just to be sure, I checked a couple of other cities too. I typed in “Porto” (up north) and “Faro” (down south). Porto looked a bit cooler and wetter, and Faro seemed a bit warmer and drier. Makes sense, right?
Summarizing the Results
I noted down average highs and lows and general precipitation patterns.

So, basically, Portugal in February? It’s not super warm, but it’s not freezing either. You’ll probably need a jacket, especially at night, and you should definitely pack an umbrella or a raincoat. But it doesn’t seem like a total washout. I’m thinking layers, people! Layers are the key!
I’m feeling pretty good about my weather research. Now I can move on to the fun stuff, like figuring out where to eat all the delicious Portuguese pastries!
