Alright, so I’ve been trying to be more eco-conscious lately, and that includes how I travel. I decided to really look into eco-friendly travel gear, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey!

Eco-friendly Travel Gear: Must-Have Items for Your Next Sustainable Adventure

First off, I started by doing some good old-fashioned research. I hit up the internet, read some blogs, and watched a few videos about sustainable travel. I found that there are tons of companies out there making gear specifically designed to be easier on the planet. Cool, right?

Then I made a list of the stuff I usually take with me on trips. My usual suspects were: a water bottle, some travel-sized toiletries, a backpack, and a few other odds and ends. I figured I could probably find eco-friendly versions of most of these things.

My first mission was a reusable water bottle. I already had one, but it was plastic, and I wanted to switch to something more sustainable. I found a stainless steel one that I really liked. It keeps my water cold, it’s durable, and no more plastic waste! Win-win!

The Search for Eco-Friendly Toiletries

Next up, toiletries. This one was a bit trickier. I usually just grab those little travel-sized bottles from the drugstore, but they create a lot of plastic waste. So, I started looking into alternatives. I discovered solid shampoo and conditioner bars. They come in minimal packaging, usually just paper or cardboard, and they work great! I also found some bamboo toothbrushes and toothpaste tablets that come in a glass jar. I was seriously impressed.

Backpack Upgrade

Then there was my backpack. I’ve had the same one for years, and it was starting to show its age. I decided it was time for an upgrade, and I wanted to find one made from recycled materials. After some searching, I found a company that makes backpacks out of recycled plastic bottles. The backpack is great quality, and I feel good knowing I’m helping to reduce plastic waste. I have used this bag many times!

Other Eco-Friendly Finds

I also picked up a few other eco-friendly items, like reusable cutlery and a set of reusable shopping bags. These little things might seem small, but they can make a big difference over time.

Overall, I’m really happy with my eco-friendly travel gear. It took a little bit of effort to find everything, but it was totally worth it. I feel good knowing that I’m doing my part to reduce my impact on the planet, even when I’m traveling. Plus, a lot of this stuff is just better quality than the disposable options. I am so happy to have done this transition!
