Okay, so I’ve been planning a bunch of trips lately, and honestly, keeping track of everything was becoming a real headache. I’d have random notes scribbled on paper, stuff saved in different apps, and it was just a mess. I needed a better system, so I started looking into free travel checklists and itineraries.

First, I brainstormed all the things I typically need to remember, like:
- Passport/ID (duh!)
- Flights/train tickets
- Hotel confirmations
- Packing lists (clothes, toiletries, etc.)
- Activities I want to do
- Restaurant ideas
- Emergency contacts
Then, I decided to make my own simple checklists. I use just the simplest text tool. Nothing Fancy.
I created separate sections for:
- Pre-Trip To-Dos: Things like booking flights, arranging transportation, getting travel insurance, etc.
- Packing List: I broke this down further into clothes, toiletries, electronics, and miscellaneous.
- Itinerary: I put down dates, times, locations, confirmation numbers, and any notes I had.
Then I made a new file and started filling in the blanks for my upcomming trip!
How it worked out
Seriously, it’s been a game-changer. Having everything in one place, easily accessible on my phone, makes the whole travel process so much smoother. I’m not constantly worried I’ve forgotten something crucial. I can also add more notes to the file for the next trip!

And if I don’t want to create the sheets myself, I could easily find some premade on line, and copy those part I think useful to my sheet!
So yeah, that’s my super simple, yet effective, way of handling travel checklists and itineraries. It’s nothing fancy, but it works!
