Okay, so I wanted to get a real feel for holidays in Bolivia, you know, not just the typical tourist stuff. So, I started digging.

My Deep Dive into Bolivian Holidays
First, I hit up a bunch of websites – government pages, travel blogs, everything I could find. I was just trying to get a basic list of the big holidays. That part was pretty straightforward. I jotted down the names and dates, just to have a starting point.
Then things got a little trickier. Just knowing the names wasn’t enough. I wanted to understand what these holidays meant to people. So, I started looking for personal stories, like blog posts or even social media posts from folks in Bolivia.
- I spent hours scrolling through forums.
- I tried to find videos of celebrations.
- I even dabbled in some online translators to try and understand Spanish-language articles better!
It was a lot of sifting, to be honest. Some of what is reaserched was, well pretty standard or didn’t have the personal touch I was after. But then I stumbled across a few really cool blogs from Bolivians sharing their family traditions, the foods they eat, the music they listen to… that kind of stuff.
I then compiled them. I now have a richer understanding of Bolivian holidays.
