Okay, so I saw this “heart-shaped lips” thing trending, and I was like, “I gotta try that!” I’m not gonna lie, my lips are kinda… average. Nothing special. So, the idea of making them look all cute and heart-shaped was super appealing.
First, I watched a bunch of tutorials. Seriously, a TON. Some were helpful, some were…not so much. But I picked up a few key things.
My “Heart-Shaped Lips” Experiment
- Start with a good lip liner. Like, duh, right? I used one that’s a little darker than my natural lip color.
- Focus on the cupid’s bow. That’s the little dip in the middle of your upper lip. You gotta make that part really defined.
- Overline… just a tiny bit. I went a little overboard at first and looked like a clown. Less is more, people!
- Round out the top curves of your upper lip. This is where the “heart” shape really comes in.
- Fill it in! I used a lipstick that matched the liner pretty closely, but you could go for a slightly lighter shade in the center for a more pouty look.
- Finally, a little lip gloss for my lip.
Honestly, it took me a few tries to get it right. My first attempt? Disaster. I looked like I’d been eating a jam doughnut, and not in a cute way. But I kept practicing, and I think I finally nailed it!
The key is to be subtle. Don’t try to completely change your lip shape, just enhance what you’ve already got. And don’t be afraid to experiment! What works for one person might not work for another, so just play around until you find what looks best on you.
It’s actually pretty fun, and it does make my lips look a little fuller and more defined. Would I do it every day? Probably not. But for a special occasion or a fun selfie? Definitely!
