I also realized that conservation isn’t just about protecting wildlife. It’s about protecting the entire ecosystem, including the people who depend on it.
Now that I’m back home, I’m trying to incorporate more sustainable practices into my daily life. Things like reducing my plastic consumption, supporting ethical businesses, and educating others about conservation issues.
I also volunteered at my local nature center, helping with trail maintenance and leading guided tours. It’s not the same as being in Costa Rica, but it’s a way to stay connected to nature and make a difference in my own community.
