Okay, so here’s the deal. I dove into Reiki a while back, and I figured I’d share how it all went down. No fluff, just the real stuff.

First off, Level 1. I remember thinking, “What the heck is this even about?” Signed up for a weekend workshop. The teacher started talking about energy and stuff, and honestly, I was skeptical. We learned the hand positions – head, torso, back, all that. We practiced on each other. I felt…warmth? Maybe it was just the room, haha. But then, giving Reiki to my buddy, I noticed his shoulders relaxed. He said he felt calmer. Okay, maybe there’s something to this.
Kept practicing on myself, my dog, my plants (yeah, plants!). Didn’t suddenly become a zen master or anything, but I did notice I felt less stressed. Sleep got a bit better. Little things. Daily practice was key. Even just 10-15 minutes made a difference.
Then came Level 2. This was where things got interesting. Symbols! We learned a bunch of ’em. Apparently, they amplify the energy, help with distance healing, and stuff. Sounded kinda woo-woo, but I was in, right? We practiced drawing the symbols in the air, chanting their names. Felt a bit silly at first, like some weird Harry Potter thing. But after a while, I started to feel a connection. Hard to explain.
The big thing with Level 2 was distance healing. Sent Reiki to my mom who was having a rough week. She called a few days later, said she felt a lot more grounded. Could be coincidence, sure. But I kept doing it. Also started using the symbols for mental/emotional healing – focusing on letting go of old grudges, that kinda thing. Definite shift. Like decluttering my mental attic.
Fast forward to Level 3, Master Level. This was a bigger commitment – both time and money-wise. More symbols, more intense attunements. The focus here was on becoming a Reiki Master, which means you can teach others. Honestly, teaching wasn’t my main goal. I just wanted to deepen my own practice.

The Master symbol is a powerhouse. Really felt a surge of energy when I was attuned to it. Used it in my daily sessions. Noticed a stronger, clearer connection to the Reiki energy. Also, I started to see improvements in my intuition. Not like psychic visions or anything, but just a stronger sense of what’s right for me.
So, what’s the takeaway? Reiki isn’t a magic bullet. It’s not gonna solve all your problems. But it can be a really helpful tool for managing stress, promoting relaxation, and deepening your connection to yourself. The key is consistent practice. Even if it’s just for a few minutes each day. Don’t expect miracles overnight. Just be patient and see what happens.
My advice:
- Find a reputable teacher. Do your research.
- Practice regularly. Consistency is key.
- Don’t overthink it. Just let the energy flow.
- Trust your intuition. It knows what’s best for you.
That’s my Reiki journey in a nutshell. Hope it helps!
