Alright, so the other day I found myself making my way over to Fort Defiance. You know how it is, your pockets are full, your backpack’s about to burst, and you’re just desperate to stash your loot somewhere, anywhere.
I figured, hey, Fort Defiance, it’s a big ol’ building, right? An old asylum, later a Brotherhood of Steel outpost. Surely, a place like that, with all its history and different uses, would have a stash box or two tucked away. It just makes sense, doesn’t it? People lived there, worked there, fought there – they must’ve needed places to keep their stuff.
My Trek Through That Spooky Place
So, I began my little expedition. First, I poked around the main entrance area, the ground floor. Lots of creepy vibes, debris everywhere, but no stash box in plain sight. I wasn’t too surprised; the obvious spots are rarely where you find things.
Then, I started heading upwards. Floor by floor, I went through all those dilapidated rooms. You know, the patient rooms with the busted beds, the old offices with scattered papers. I checked every nook and cranny I could find, always keeping an eye out for that familiar blue box. The atmosphere in there, man, it always gets to me a bit. Quiet, too quiet sometimes, and then BAM, something jumps out at you.
I spent a good chunk of time on the third floor, especially around the area where the Brotherhood of Steel had clearly set up their main operations. There were terminals, some old equipment, that sort of thing. I thought to myself, “Okay, if there’s one anywhere, it’s gotta be here. Soldiers and scribes, they’d definitely need a stash.” I was really combing through that section.
I was starting to get a bit frustrated, thinking maybe I’d have to lug all my treasures all the way back to my C.A.M.P., which was miles away at that point. You know that feeling, when you’re over-encumbered and just want to offload.
But then, persistence paid off! Tucked away, right there on the third floor, in that Brotherhood section, I finally spotted it. A beautiful, wonderful stash box. What a relief, I tell ya!
I seem to recall there’s usually another one as well, often if you head into the actual Allegheny Asylum wing from the main Fort building. Sometimes it’s near that connecting doorway on one of the floors. But for me, if I’m already deep in the Fort, that one on the third floor, with all the BoS gear, is my main go-to.
So, yeah, if you’re ever hauling too much junk around Fort Defiance and find yourself wondering, there definitely is at least one stash box. You just gotta be prepared to explore a bit, especially those upper floors. It’s saved me a long walk more than a few times now.
