Today, I took a little adventure to the Castle District. It was a bit of a hike, but totally worth it. I started my day by hopping on the metro, then switched to a bus that went up the hill. I got off at the last stop and just started walking.

First thing I noticed, the streets were all cobblestone, really old-school. The buildings were amazing, like straight out of a history book. I walked around for a while, just soaking it all in. There were tons of little shops selling souvenirs and stuff, and I couldn’t resist grabbing a few things.

  • Checked out Matthias Church
  • Explored the Fisherman’s Bastion
  • Wandered through the Royal Palace

I spent a good chunk of time at Matthias Church. It’s this huge, gorgeous church with a super colorful roof. I went inside, and wow, the stained glass windows were incredible. Then I headed over to the Fisherman’s Bastion. It’s like a big, fancy terrace with amazing views of the city. I took a million pictures from there.

Royal Palace

Finally, I made my way to the Royal Palace. It’s a massive building, and I only saw a small part of it. I wandered through a few of the courtyards, and they were really impressive. There were also some museums inside, but I was pretty tired by then, so I decided to skip those.

By the end of the day, my feet were killing me, but I was so glad I went. The Castle District is definitely a must-see. I grabbed a bite to eat at a little cafe, then took the funicular down the hill, which was a fun way to end the day.

I had a great time exploring all the places. I’d say it was a great day, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re ever in the area.
