Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of “green travel planners.” I’ve been feeling this itch to make my trips more eco-friendly, and I figured, why not build something to help with that?
I started by just brainstorming, you know, jotting down all the things I’d want in a green travel planner. Things like finding eco-lodges, calculating carbon footprints, maybe even suggesting alternative transportation.
Then I did some digging. I checked out existing apps and websites to see what’s already out there. I looked at a bunch, trying to figure out what I liked and what I didn’t. I wanted to steal some goods, haha.
After getting a feel for the landscape, I started sketching out some basic wireframes. Nothing fancy, just rough outlines of how the app might look and flow. I used some paper that have a lot grids, to get the positions easily.
Next, I began playing around with some databases, listing destinations, accommodations, transportation options. I tried to fill as many data as I could. I mean, that’s the meat of the whole thing, right?
Finally, I try to put everything together, pulling it all together into a very basic, super rough prototype. It’s got many problems, and the interface is ugly, but hey, it’s a start!
