Okay, so today I wanna talk about my “green travel” plan. You know, trying to be a bit more eco-friendly when I’m out and about.

I started by looking at my usual travel habits. Let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. Lots of flights, taxis, and those little plastic bottles from hotels. I was like, “This has got to change.” It is not a big problem but just like waste sorting.

First thing I did was invest in a good reusable water bottle. Sounds simple, but it’s a game-changer. I used to buy so much bottled water, it’s embarrassing. Now, I just fill it up at my hotel or at water fountains.

  • Reusable water bottle – check!

Then, I started looking into public transportation. I’ll be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first. I mean, figuring out bus routes and train schedules in a new city? Intimidating! But, I found some pretty cool apps that make it way easier. This app can even be useful in my daily life.

And you know what? It’s actually kind of fun! You see so much more of a city when you’re on a bus or a train, compared to being stuck in a taxi. Plus, it’s way cheaper. I had used the left money to taste more food. And you meet some interesting people too. I met a guy on the train in Stockholm, he gave me some awesome tips about local spots.

Speaking of Stockholm, that city is seriously killing it with the whole green thing. Everyone’s biking around, the public transport is super efficient, and it just feels…clean. You see, people in the city ride bikes or just walk, I love that!

Another thing I tried was choosing eco-friendly accommodations. It’s not always easy to find, but I try to choose accommodations with sustainability certifications. Some hotels are getting really creative with reducing waste and conserving energy.

For instance, I stayed at this one place in Switzerland, it is in a deep valley. It was amazing! They had solar panels, used rainwater for their gardens, and even had their own vegetable patches. And the mountain views were just breathtaking. It is so beautiful that I could not take my eyes off the window.

Honestly, it’s not always perfect. Sometimes, it’s just more convenient to hop in a cab, or maybe the only hotel option is one that’s not so green. But I figure, every little bit helps, right?

It’s a learning process, and I’m definitely not an expert. But I’m trying, and that’s what counts. And it feels good to be a little bit kinder to the planet while I’m exploring it.

So yeah, that’s my green travel journey so far. It’s been fun, a bit challenging at times, but definitely rewarding. If any of you guys have any green travel tips, please do share! I’m always looking for new ideas. Let’s make travel better, one reusable water bottle at a time!
