Okay, so I’ve been meaning to put together a proper guide to all the major contemporary art festivals around the world. I finally got around to doing it, so here’s how it all went down.

Started with Brainstorming
First, I grabbed a big sheet of paper and a pen. I just started jotting down every art festival I could think of off the top of my head. You know, the big ones like Venice Biennale, Art Basel… that sort of thing. I also wrote down some smaller, maybe lesser-known ones that I’ve either been to or heard good things about.
Hit the Web
Then, I spent a good chunk of time online. I needed to fill in the gaps. I already knew some of these events, but for many, I needed the basic details like:
- Typical Dates: When do these things usually happen?
- Location: Obviously, where are they held?
- Focus: Are they super broad, or do they specialize in a certain type of art?
- Vibe: Is it more for collectors, or is it accessible to the general public?
I went through a bunch of websites, official festival pages, art blogs, and even some travel guides to get a good feel for each one.
Organizing the Chaos
After that, I had a HUGE, messy list. So, I needed to organize it somehow. I decided to group them roughly by continent, just to make it easier to navigate. Then, within each region, I tried to put them in a somewhat chronological order, based on when they usually take place during the year.
Writing it Up
Finally, I started putting it all together in a more readable format. For each festival, I wrote a short description, highlighting the key things I found. I tried to keep it concise and to the point. I focused on what makes each one unique or interesting.

Putting on a blog
After that, I have done all of the writing part, then I put them all on my blog, so all of my followers and friends can see it and get useful informations about art festivals around the world.
It was a bigger project than I initially thought, but it was definitely worth it! Now I have a solid resource, and hopefully, it’ll help other people discover some cool art events around the world.
