Okay, so today I decided to check out the Arco della Pace, or Arch of Peace, in Milan. I’ve seen pictures, you know, the usual touristy stuff, but I wanted to experience it myself. So, I hopped on the metro and got off at the nearest station.

First thing I did was, well, just find the thing! It’s in this big open space, Parco Sempione, so it wasn’t exactly hiding, but it’s still impressive when you see it up close. I walked around it a couple of times, just taking it all in.
Getting Closer and Looking at the Details
The details are pretty cool. There are all these statues and carvings all over it. I’m no art expert, but I could tell a lot of work went into this thing. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at the different figures and trying to figure out what they were supposed to represent.
- I spent a good time looking at the bronze statues on top. Horses! They look powerful.
- Checked out the inscriptions. Lots of Latin, which I don’t understand, but it adds to the whole ancient vibe.
- Walked through the arches. It really makes you feel small.
I Tried to capture the feeling, I took some photos, obviously. Tried a few different angles, played around with the light. It was a bit crowded, so I had to wait for people to move out of the way to get some decent shots. It is the perfect spot.
After I felt like I’d really seen the arch, I spent some time just chilling in the park. It’s a nice place to relax, people-watch, and just enjoy the * a coffee and sat on a bench for a while.
Overall, it was a good day. The Arco della Pace is definitely worth checking out if you’re in Milan. It’s not just a pretty monument; it’s got this history and grandeur that you can feel when you’re there. I’m glad I finally made the time to see it.
