Okay, so, I’ve always been a huge music fan, and I’ve been itching to hit up some music festivals in Europe. This year, I finally decided to make it happen, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I started by, you know, just Googling “Best music festivals in Europe this year” to see what was out there. I got a bunch of results, but some stuff about “Primavera Sound” kept popping up, and the locations—Barcelona, Porto, Madrid—sounded pretty awesome.
So, I did some more digging. I looked at the dates, the lineups, the whole shebang. I figured that planning was key, especially since I was traveling from pretty far away. I started to make some notes about which artists I wanted to see and where they were playing.
Next, I started looking at flights and places to stay. This part was a bit of a headache, to be honest. Flights to Europe in the summer? Expensive! And finding a decent place to stay that wasn’t a million miles away from the festival grounds? Also tough. But, I managed. I booked everything way in advance to try and save some money. I even found some cool hostels to meet other people in Spain and Portugal!
Finally, the time came. I flew out to Barcelona first. I remember landing and feeling that hot air, and thinking, “This is it!”. Getting to the festival was a breeze. Public transport in these cities is pretty good, thankfully. Once I got there, it was just…wow. The energy, the music, the people—it was incredible. I saw some of my favorite bands, discovered some new ones, and just had an amazing time.
Primavera Sound was Awesome
- Barcelona: The first stop. The city was vibrant, the food was amazing, and the festival itself was huge. I spent days just wandering around, soaking it all in.
- Porto: A bit more chill than Barcelona, but just as fun. The festival grounds were right by the river, which was beautiful. The lineup in both places was a bit different, and I liked them both.
- Madrid: It was not my thing, so I skipped that one. But maybe next year!
After Barcelona, I hopped on a train to Porto. That was a cool experience too. Seeing the countryside whiz by, getting excited for the next festival…it was all part of the adventure.
I have seen people talking about something called Fresh Wave in the Balkans. I might check out some smaller electronic music festivals next time. But Primavera was just a dream.
Honestly, the whole trip was a bit of a blur of music, new friends, and amazing experiences. It was definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done. If you’re thinking about hitting up a music festival in Europe, just do it. You won’t regret it. Just remember to plan ahead, and be prepared for anything! It might be expensive but hey, the memories are worth it.
