Okay, so today was all about snapping a “selfie with grandma.” Sounds simple, right? It kinda was, kinda wasn’t. Let me walk you through it.
First, I went over to Grandma’s place. She was already in the living room, watching her favorite show. I greeted her with a big hug, of course. Then I explained my little project – capturing a nice photo of us together.
Getting the Right Shot
We tried a few different spots. Initially, we sat on the sofa, but the lighting was terrible. All shadows and weird angles! So, we moved closer to the window. Much better! Natural light is always the best, you know?
- First attempt: Too dark, on the sofa.
- Second attempt: Near the window, but Grandma blinked.
- Third attempt: I accidentally cut off the top of her head. Oops!
Finally after fiddling with the phone camera for what seemed forever, I found the “portrait” mode. It blurs the background a little, making the photo look, more professional, maybe. I showed Grandma how to hold the phone so we both fit in the frame, and we practiced a couple of times. Getting the angle just right is surprisingly tricky!
The Final Result
We finally took the photo. Actually, we took like five, just to be sure. I picked the best one – the one where we’re both smiling and looking at the camera, not squinting or anything. Then I showed the photos to Grandma. She loved them, which made it all worthwhile. I sent her the pictures to her phone right away, and now I have a good picture of me and my grandma.
It’s a simple thing, but it’s a nice memory to have. And honestly, the whole process of figuring it out together was kind of fun. Definitely worth it!
