Today, I decided to get out of the house and try some nature-based activities. I’ve been feeling cooped up lately, so I figured a good dose of the outdoors would do me some good.

Planning the Day
First things first, I needed a plan. I didn’t want to just wander around aimlessly. I thought about what I enjoy – I like a bit of exercise, I love seeing birds, and I’m always up for a nice view.
- Morning Hike: I picked a local trail that’s not too tough but has some decent elevation for a bit of a workout.
- Bird Watching: I packed my old binoculars. They’re nothing fancy, but they get the job done.
- Picnic Lunch: Gotta have some good food! I made some sandwiches and packed some fruit and snacks.
- Afternoon Relaxation: Find a good spot with some shade to take it easy and maybe sketch a bit.
Hitting the Trail
I started early to beat the heat. The trail was pretty quiet, just the sounds of the birds and the wind in the trees. I even put on my headphones for a little bit, because sometimes you need a bit of peace.
I kept a good pace, not rushing, but not dawdling either. It felt good to get the blood pumping and breathe in the fresh air. About halfway through, I found a nice lookout point. Took a break, had some water, and just enjoyed the view. It’s amazing what a little perspective can do.
Bird Watching Break
After the hike, I found a nice shady spot near a stream. Perfect for bird watching! I’m no expert, but I can recognize a few common species. I saw a couple of robins, a few sparrows, and even a blue jay – always a treat! It’s just relaxing to sit there and observe them going about their business.
Picnic Time
By now, I was definitely ready for lunch. I found a nice flat rock by the stream and spread out my food. Nothing beats a simple sandwich when you’re outdoors. Sat there, ate, and listened to the water flowing. Simple pleasures, you know?

Afternoon Sketching and Chilling
After I ate and rested a bit, I took out my sketchbook and pencils.I tried drawing some of the plants.I am not great, but just try to focus on * made me enjoy that time.
I eventually packed up and headed back. All in all, a successful day. I felt refreshed, relaxed, and a bit more connected to the world around me. Definitely something I need to do more often.
