Okay, so I had to get to Koh Samui, and I was looking at flights. Obviously, I needed to check out the Samui Airport, which is, you know, airport code USM.

Checking Out the Options
First, I pulled up my usual flight search engines. You know, just to get a feel for prices and what airlines were even flying there. It’s not a huge international hub, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I quickly found out that Bangkok Airways pretty much owns the place. They built it, they run it, and they fly most of the flights. It’s their little kingdom.
The Bangkok Airways Experience
Since Bangkok Airways was the main game in town, I spent some time on their website. I checked their schedules, and looked at their different fare types. They have a few options, like economy, premium economy, that kind of thing.
- Economy: Your basic seat. Gets you there.
- Premium Economy: A bit more legroom, maybe some extra perks.
- Business Class: If you’re feeling fancy. Lie-flat seats and all that jazz.
The Airport Itself
I also did some digging on the airport itself. From what I could gather, it’s pretty unique. It’s mostly open-air, which is kind of cool. No big, sterile terminals here. It’s got more of a resort vibe, which fits with the whole island feel.
I saw some pictures online, and it looked pretty relaxed. Lots of greenery, little shops, and places to grab a bite. It’s not like one of those massive airports where you have to walk a mile to your gate.

My Decision
After all the research, I booked my flight. I ended up going with Bangkok Airways, just because they had the most convenient schedule. I opted for economy, but I paid to choose my seats. My flight landed safely.
The airport was just as I had pictured. I got my baggage. Finally,I walked out of the airport.
