Alright, document time. This is where things got a little intense. Here’s what I rounded up:
- Passport: Obvious, right? I made sure it was valid for at least six months after my planned trip.
- Visa Application Form: I downloaded this from the embassy website. Filling it out was pretty standard, just basic info about me and my trip.
- Passport-Sized Photos: I got these taken at a local pharmacy. Make sure they meet the specific requirements, they can be picky about the background and size!
- Proof of Funds: I printed out recent bank statements to show I could actually afford this trip.
- Flight Itinerary: I booked a round-trip flight and printed out the confirmation. They want to see you’re actually planning to leave, you know?
- Hotel Reservations: I also printed confirmations for all the hotels I booked.
- Proof of Employment: I get letter from my boss to show I’ve a good reason to come back my country.
Making the Appointment
I went back to the embassy website and found the section for scheduling appointments. It was a bit of a wait, a few weeks out, so definitely plan ahead! I picked a date and time that worked for me and locked it in.
The Actual Appointment
Okay, appointment day. I arrived a little early, dressed decently, and had all my documents organized in a folder. I went through security, waited for my number to be called, and then sat down with a visa officer. Waiting for the Decision
