Okay, so I’ve been seeing ravens everywhere lately. Like, seriously, it’s been kind of freaking me out. Not in a bad way, more like…a curious way? I felt this pull to look into it, to see if there was some kind of, you know, meaning behind it all. So, I dove in, and here’s what I did and what I found.

My Raven Encounter Journey
First, I started noticing them. This is key. I wasn’t looking for ravens, they just kept…appearing. One perched on my fence, another swooped low over my car, and I even saw a group of three (a murder, I later learned!) pecking around in a nearby park. I’ve always kind of liked ravens – they’re so sleek and black, and seem intelligent but it was becoming too much to go unnoticed.
Then, I started journaling. Every time I saw a raven, I wrote it down. Time of day, location, what I was doing, and any feelings or thoughts that popped into my head. This helped me see if there was any pattern to the appearances.
- Date: October 26th
- Time: Around 8:00 AM
- Location: On the power line outside my kitchen window.
- What I was doing: Making coffee, feeling a little anxious about a work presentation.
- Feelings/Thoughts: Noticed how glossy its feathers were. Felt a strange sense of calm after seeing it.
I did this for a whole week. Some days, nothing. Other days, multiple sightings.
Next, I hit the books (and the internet). I wanted to see what others had to say about ravens. I looked up folklore, mythology, and spiritual interpretations. I found out that ravens are often associated with things like:
- Magic and mystery
- Transformation and change
- Messages from the spirit world
- Insight and intuition
- Trickery and playfulness
Pretty intense, right? I found that most of the infomation was pretty consistent, and that the meaning of a raven sighting is different depending on your personal beliefs.

I started meditating on it. After gathering all this information, I sat down and just…thought about it. I closed my eyes, focused on my breath, and asked myself, “What does this raven energy mean for me?” I didn’t force anything, I just let whatever came up, come up.
Finally, I synthesized it all. Based on my journaling, my research, and my meditation, I started to get a sense of what the ravens might be trying to tell me. For me, it felt like a nudge to embrace change and trust my intuition. I was going through a period of uncertainty, and the ravens felt like a sign that I was on the right path, even if it felt scary.
It’s an ongoing process, of course. I’m still seeing ravens, and I’m still paying attention. But now, instead of feeling freaked out, I feel…connected. Like I’m getting little messages from the universe, and I am now intune to them. It’s pretty cool, actually.
