Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out this whole multi-destination trip thing. You know, not just a simple A to B trip, but like, hitting up a bunch of places in one go. It gets complicated fast! So, here’s what I did:

Figuring Out Where to Even Start

First, I just started brainstorming. I literally grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down all the places I’d been dreaming of. It was a MESS. Like, some were in Europe, others in Asia, total chaos.

Getting a Grip on Reality (aka Budget and Time)

Next, I had to get real. How much time did I actually have? And, more importantly, how much money could I realistically spend? This part was a bummer because I had to cross a few places off my list. Sad face

The Tools I played With

I looked at few things:

  • Just plain old Google Maps: Good for getting a visual, seeing distances, and rough travel times. I pinned all my potential destinations.
  • Spreadsheets: I know, sounds boring, but hear me out. I made columns for estimated flight costs, accommodation, daily expenses, etc. It helped me see the total damage.
  • Note-taking app: I need keep every brainstorm I have.

Putting it All Together (The Hard Part)

This is where it got tricky. I had all this info, but I needed a logical order. I spent a lot of time messing around with different sequences, trying to minimize travel time and make the most of my budget.

I started grouping destinations that were close together. Like, if I was going to be in Southeast Asia, I’d hit up a few countries there before hopping to a different continent.

My Current “Plan” (It’s Still a Work in Progress!)

I have a rough itinerary now! It’s not set in stone, but it’s a starting point. I’ve got estimated costs for each leg of the trip, and I’ve even started looking at potential flights and places to stay.

It’s still overwhelming, to be honest, there is a lot of research before I book anyting! But I feel way more organized than I did at the beginning.
