My Kapsalon Hair Attempt Journey
Alright so I saw mad Kapsalon hairstyles popping up everywhere and thought hell yeah, let’s try that sharp look myself. Grabbed my phone, scrolled through a ton of pics – those clean fades with the straight-line top hitting the eyebrows? Damn clean. Seemed tough though.
First up, I gathered my weapons: trusty clippers, guards, my crappy bathroom mirror, pomade, and a comb. Super important to get that fade right, so I started with the longest guard first. Went around my head like usual, buzzing away but careful near the top line. Messed this part up big time last year with uneven patches, learned my lesson.
Then came the scary part – going lower for that fade. Started with the number 3 guard halfway up the sides, then switched to number 2. Eyeballing where the fade should begin was nerve-wracking. My hand was shaky AF. Had to keep switching clippers without guard to define it. Felt that buzzing way too close to the skin! One wrong move and I’m totally screwed.
Next: the signature straight-line top. This part? Tricky like hell. My hair flops everywhere naturally. Sectioned off the top part with my fingers – kept it messy thick cause I wanted volume. Grabbed my comb and scissors… deep breath. Trimmed carefully, checking the mirror every two seconds. Overdid one spot near the front – looked like a mini crater for a hot minute. Had to even it out slowly. Edge work? Man, my hairline looked like it got attacked by a lawnmower. Cleaned it up bit by bit with the tiniest trimmer setting.
Styling time:
- Dampened my hair slightly just to make it listen.
- Scooped a dime of pomade – that thick waxy stuff.
- Rubbed hands together hard to warm it up first.
- Worked it all through the top hair, pushing it forward toward my face.
- Comb time: dragged that comb dead straight forward. Hair kept flopping back like it hated me.
- Pressed down that front edge with my palm for what felt like forever to make it sit flat.
- Used my finger to tweak bits sticking out, especially over the ears.
End result? Not bad. That sharp contrast between skin and hair looked solid. Still, my fade wasn’t as smooth as the pros. Top line felt a bit messy where I over-cut. But damn, when the pomade set and that sharp front shape held? Felt cool as. Took me way longer than expected, sweated buckets stressing that fade line. Maybe start with shorter top hair first time? Yeah. Worth the try.
